When you use our Leak Risk Audit or Smart Home Compatibility Matrix, you may enter information about your home (e.g., home size, appliance types, smart home ecosystem). This data is processed locally in your browser to generate your results. We do not transmit, store, or log your calculator inputs on our servers. Your home data stays on your device.
Contact Form Submissions (Voluntary)
If you submit a message via our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Smart Home Device Data (None)
LeakCheckPro.com does not integrate with, connect to, or receive data from any smart home devices, hubs, or platforms. We do not see, store, or process any data from your Moen Flo, YoLink, Apple Home, Google Home, or any other smart home system. Our guides are informational only.
3. Third-Party Links & Services
Retailer Links (Amazon, etc.)
Our site contains affiliate links to Amazon.com and other retailers. When you click these links, you leave LeakCheckPro.com and are subject to the destination site's privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of Amazon, Moen, YoLink, Eve, Govee, or any other linked retailer or manufacturer.
Manufacturer Sites
We link to manufacturer websites (Moen, Phyn, YoLink, IKEA, etc.) for technical documentation and product information. These sites operate under their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their policies before submitting any personal information to them.
No Data Sharing for Advertising
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third-party advertisers. We do not participate in behavioral advertising networks. The only data shared with third parties is the anonymized, aggregate analytics data described above.
4. Your Rights (CCPA & GDPR)
California Residents (CCPA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to: (1) know what personal information we collect, (2) request deletion of personal information we hold, (3) opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and (4) non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Under the General Data Protection Regulation, EU and UK residents have the right to: access personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restrict or object to processing, and data portability. Data Deletion Requests
To request deletion of any personal data we hold (contact form submissions), email us via our Contact page with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion in writing.
5. Security
Developer-Led Security Standards
As a developer-led team, the DU Tech Team prioritizes site security as a technical standard, not an afterthought. Our site operates exclusively over HTTPS with TLS 1.3 encryption. We conduct regular security audits and apply patches within 48 hours of critical vulnerability disclosures.
Data Minimization
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the site. Contact form submissions are stored in an encrypted database with access restricted to core team members. We do not store payment information — all transactions occur directly on retailer sites.
Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovery, in compliance with GDPR Article 33 and applicable US state breach notification laws.
6. Children's Privacy
COPPA Compliance
LeakCheckPro.com is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has submitted personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us immediately.
7. Changes to This Policy
Update Notification
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
